Lincolnshire Free Press Misrepresent My Open Letter

The local paper, Lincolnshire Free Press, seriously misrepresented my open letter on safety in West Drove South. My complaint is NOT about the state of the road which I do not have a problem with per se. In addition they edited the letter in such a savage way that much of the argument I put forward to back up my supposition was disregarded. On top of that they failed to challenge the Highways Dept assertion that 20mph restrictions would apply to urban areas when, by the act of building 6 properties each designed to hold a minimum of 5 people in a confined piece of road frontage on West Drove South, they were 'urbanising' that part of the road. And finally the properties are hidden from view driving from the northern end of the lane until the road user is virtually upon the development - obscured not just by foliage but a high fence constructed up to the road edge. Irrespective of whether a path is put in the speed limit of 40mph is plain daft and I hope against hope that either common sense prevails or failing that that fate takes a kindly view of what has been done.

I will not, in protest, be submitting items of any kind to this paper or its stablemate the Spalding Guardian again so that any reference to myself in these publications I would urge the reader to take with a pinch of salt.

I would recomend readers to read the entire text of my letter which is in the form of 2 PDFs at the following address:
